CHINA SOURCING / BUYER GUIDE

Electric motorcycle and e-bike sourcing from China

Buying electric two-wheelers for distribution, commuting or a delivery fleet? First tell me whether you need an electric motorcycle or an electric bicycle. I am Jason at Zibo Flion Import & Export Co., Ltd. I have exported both types and coordinate factory discussions in China. The commercial model name is a starting point; the destination's vehicle classification must also be checked.

Separate motorcycle and bicycle requirements

Electric motorcycles and electric bicycles should not be treated as the same buying category. Describe the model style, whether you need pedals or pedal assistance, and the riding use. A photo or product link is useful when terms such as e-bike or scooter are used differently across markets.

The exact specification must be compared with local classification, import and road-use requirements. A supplier's use of the word bicycle or motorcycle is not enough to establish the legal category in your destination.

  • Electric motorcycle or electric bicycle, with a model reference.
  • Rider use: commuting, delivery, leisure or distribution stock.
  • Pedal, frame, seating and carrying requirements where relevant.

Start with the use, reference, quantity and destination

A first enquiry can be brief. Explain who will ride the vehicle and the use you need to support. I can share actual vehicle photos directly and ask factories to confirm the remaining model and equipment questions.

  • Vehicle type and intended riding use.
  • Preferred model, photo or product reference, if available.
  • Estimated order quantity.
  • Destination country and city or port.

Confirm the model and electrical configuration

We check the proposed frame or vehicle model, motor, battery, charger, brakes and requested onboard functions with the factory. Share known charging, rider or cargo needs; available equipment and compatibility are confirmed for the quoted configuration.

If range, speed or climbing ability matters to your purchase, ask for the supplier's information and the conditions behind those figures. A battery capacity alone does not establish the range of a vehicle in your operating conditions.

  • Battery type, capacity, installation and charging arrangement.
  • Charger supply and plug, controls and requested accessories.
  • For bicycle models, pedal-assist operation where required.
  • Service parts, maintenance information and product documents.

Check import classification and battery transport

Your importer should confirm the classification and requirements for the exact model in the destination. Share any registration, labelling or documentation requirements before order agreement so the factory's available documents can be reviewed.

Battery transport arrangements depend on the battery and shipment configuration. We confirm what is being supplied, how it is packed and which documents the selected carrier requires. A complete-vehicle enquiry does not remove the need to check the transport requirements.

Plan the distributor order and individual quotation

For a distributor or fleet buyer, identify any requested spare parts and assembly or maintenance information. Packing, included equipment, minimum quantity and production timing are checked with the factory after the proposed order is clear.

Each customer receives an individual quotation for the confirmed configuration and services. Agree the vehicle price, any sourcing or coordination fees, freight, destination clearance responsibility and local charges explicitly before committing.

Common sourcing questions

Do you source electric motorcycles and electric bicycles?

Yes, I have exported both types. Tell me which category you need, the intended riding use, a model reference if available, estimated quantity and destination so I can discuss the relevant factory options.

Can I start without choosing a battery capacity?

Yes. Start with the vehicle type and use. We then take battery, charger, motor and compatibility questions to the factory before confirming the specification and quotation.

Is a model sold as an e-bike automatically treated as a bicycle locally?

No. Names used in a catalogue may differ from the destination's legal categories. Your importer or local adviser should check the actual vehicle specification against local classification and use requirements before ordering.
